Prof. H. Yang is currently the Communist Party secretary and Deputy Director of Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Sibet, CAS). He is also the director of Suzhou Key Laboratory of Rehabilitation Engineering and the discipline leader in this field. Prof. Yang also serves as the director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering Technology, a branch of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, doctoral advisor of University Science and Technology of China (USTC), and distinguished research fellow of CAS. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of Technology Transformation and Industry Promotion Professional Committee of Chinese Academic of Rehabilitation Engineering, the experts of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China in active health field. He has been a senior visiting scholar at the University of Pittsburgh.

At present, Prof. H. Yang is mainly engaged in the research of motor and cognitive rehabilitation systems, skin-like flexible medical sensors, rehabilitation robots. As the chief scientist of the project, he has successively presided over a number of national, provincial, and ministerial key projects, including “Multimodal Intelligent Walking Aids”, “Agile Exoskeleton Robot for the elderly and disabled”, “Fabrication of Skin-like Flexible EEG Sensor and Key Technologies of Brain-Computer Interface”, and “VR Rehabilitation Treatment System for Children with Autism”. He has published more than 60 academic papers, applied for more than 50 invention patents and 1 PCT patent, and supervised more than 60 master and doctoral students.
