Resume:

Jie Zhuang, Ph.D., Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Xiamen University, Peking University, and Old Dominion University, USA. His Ph.D. advisor is Prof. Karl H. Schoenbach, the founding father of the research field Bioelectrics. He was a staff scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald), Germany, supervised by Prof. Juergen F. Kolb from 2012 to 2017.

At SIBET, he is the principal investigator of the Bioelectrics group. The research group is dedicated to the R&D of innovative medical devices based on high-voltage pulsed electric fields and atmospheric pressure plasmas, including tissue ablation and cancer treatment instrument. His research group also conducts biomedical application oriented basic research in the field of electroporation and plasma medicine. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal papers, and more than 10 domestic and international patents.
