Resume:

Xin Gao, Ph.D. is engaged in teaching and scientific research in Capital Medical University, Japan Gifu University, the Institute of Methodist Hospital at Texas Medical Center, Radiology Department of Iowa University Hospital

Xin Gao is engaged mainly in researches on interventional diagnosis and therapy. In the background of interventional radiology and to meet actual clinic need, the researches are focused on the breakthrough of key technologies, including front end multimode imaging technology, preoperative planning & intra-operative navigation technology, and prognostic assessment technique based on clinic big data and artificial intelligence so as to create integrated solution for interventional diagnosis and therapy.

In recent five years, Xin Gao presided over the following scientific research projects: 3 NSFC projects, 1 CAS scientific research equipment development project, 1 CAS international cooperation project, 1 sub project of national major research equipment development project, 4 provincial level projects and 2 city level projects published over 70 scientific papers, among which 20 papers are included in SCI as the first / correspondence author, and obtained 6 invention patents, 1 utility model patent and 2 software copyrights.

Direction:

(1) Precision medicine based on omics big data: conducting data feature extraction and analysis on correlation between different omics, predicting individual disease risk and assessing prognosis and therapy effect so as to provide solution for clinic decision. These research works are based on analysis of imaging omics data, genomicis data, clinic laboratory test data and pathologic data with artificial intelligence and data analysis and mining technique.

 

(2) Operative planning and navigation: quantitative route planning and risk assessment based on multi-modality image information, lesion location information and patient imaging anatomical information; precision positioning and targeted therapy of lesion through various positioning techniques such as optical, electromagnetic and intra-operative angiography.

(3) Low dose cone-beam CT imaging: development of new type low dose CT-like devices and cone-beam CT imaging system based on flat panel detector, and research on precision 3-D reconstruction of low sampling rate projection data, 3-D reconstruction of local projection area and multi-energy/spectral CT information separation.
