Faculty Team
Building a team of excellent supervisors by combining the introduction of foreign talents and selection of young talents from the Institute.
At present, the team consists of 58 doctoral supervisors (including 26 part-time doctoral supervisors from well-known hospitals in China, mainly attending doctors), 44 master supervisors.
Education Orientation and Cultivation Mode
Since 2016, the Technical Committees of Postgraduate Education has changed from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) to University of Science and Technology of China(USTC). Meanwhile, collaborated education will be carried out with Xi'an Jiaotong University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology and other local universities.
Education Orientation:We will orient the cutting-edge of biomedical science, explore the intersection of engineering and biomedicine, and innovate post-graduate cultivation mode, with a focus on the training of innovation ability, experimental skills and comprehensive quality, aiming to achieve professional engineers at SIBET integrating features of both fields.
Cultivation Objectives:graduates will have solid professional foundation, broad international vision, excellent comprehensive quality and profound humanistic compassion.
Cultivation Mode:Students will study in “phases” – study in USTC/Collaborating university for one year, and then conduct scientific research in the Institute for the next two years; “Two supervisors” instruction mode will also be applied, i.e. a medical science mentor and a major mentor. Students are encouraged to take short-term training abroad or attend international conference during their studies.
