SIBET, CAS and Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University signed a memorandum for co-operation----Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences

On March 27, 2013, Prof. McVeigh, the director of Department of Biomedical Engineering in Johns Hopkins University and Prof. Xingde Li of Department of Biomedical Engineering in Johns Hopkins University visited SIBET. President Yuguo Tang, Vice President Xiaodong Wu and Prof. Daxi Xiong mainly discussed with guests about academic exchanges, joint research and joint education programs in the fields of biomedical engineering. Two parties have mutually agreed a series of items for future co-operation. According to these items, a Memorandum was signed by President Yuguo Tang and Prof. McVeigh. The signing of this Memorandum marked that the cooperation between two parties entered the stage of implementation.

Before the signing ceremony, Mr. Ronggao Pu, Suzhou Deputy Mayor met with Prof. McVeigh and invited him to visit Suzhou National New & Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (SND) Exhibition Center. Mr. Pu welcomed Johns Hopkins University to establish Joint R&D Centers, jointly offer Bachelor，Master and Ph.D. degrees education and co-founding affiliated hospital with SIBET. He stated that Suzhou municipal and SND governments would pledge their full support to the cooperation between SIBET and JHU.
