We are pleased to announce that Biomedical Engineering (BME) Frontiers is the latest title to join the Science Partner Journal program from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in collaboration with the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
BME Frontiers is an interdisciplinary journal that aims to serve as an effective, top-notch platform for the biomedical engineering community. The journal publishes breakthrough research in the fields of pathogenic mechanisms as well as disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and assessment. Articles are based upon innovative fundamental and translational concepts, devices, systems, processes, and/or methods. The scope of BME Frontiers includes – but is not limited to – biomedical imaging and sensing; neuro-engineering; biomaterials and tissue engineering; computational medicine; and translational biomedical engineering.
BME Frontiers’ editorial board, led by Jianlin Cao (former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China) alongside Xingde Li (Johns Hopkins University), Yuguo Tang (Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology) and Guoqi Zhang (Delft University of Technology) is comprised of active researchers and experts selected from a pool of scholars who have made significant and well recognized contributions to the field of biomedical engineering.
BME Frontiers joins the other Science Partner Journals Research and Plant Phenomics, publishing high-quality, online-only, open-access original research, rapid reports, reviews and perspectives. All articles are published in the journal using a Creative Commons attribution license.
The partnership between AAAS and Hindawi, announced in 2017, has been a success, allowing new open access titles to be launched quickly and to a high standard, powered by Hindawi’s technology. Richard Bennett, Chief Commercial Officer at Hindawi, said “We are very excited to play a part in the growing Science Partner Journal Program. Working with AAAS on this program brings together our operational expertise with their mission to advocate for science on a global scale by developing journals on behalf of prestigious organisations. These journals will provide new high-quality Open Access venues for researchers looking to disseminate their research to the widest possible audience”.
Bill Moran, Publisher of the Science Family of Journals at AAAS, stated “We are very happy to be expanding the Science Partner Journal program with this new launch with the Suzhou Institute for Biomedical Engineering and Technology, affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This program has been a wonderful opportunity for us to establish and deepen relationships with prestigious international associations and also expand our vendor set with companies like Hindawi. We’re eager to continue to invest in this program and in our collaborations.”
