Announcement for International Training Course onAdvanced In Vitro Diagnostic Technology

Background
Advanced medical devices are the foundation of public health and enjoy an important strategic position in many countries. To improve people's livelihood and promote economic development in the Belt and Road Region, and to encourage more young scientists from the Belt and Road countries and the developing countries to extend their careers to biomedical engineering and technology, Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (SIBET), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) will organize an international training course on advanced in vitro diagnostic technology this year.
SIBET is the only institute for research and development of biomedical instruments in CAS. To meet the significant needs in biomedical products, it focuses on the basic, strategic, prospective researches in advanced biomedical instruments, reagents and biomedical materials, stimulates the development of biomedical engineering technology, and has established a platform for the innovation and transformation of medical instruments. Its main research fields cover medical optics, biomedical diagnostics, and rehabilitation technology.
The training course focuses on innovation and transformation of advanced medical devices, and comprises 3 topics: Advanced In Vitro Diagnostic Technology, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Engineering Technology, and Medical Imaging Technology. This program aims at promoting communication, collaborations and capacity building for the countries in the Belt and Road Region in common S&T concerns and tackle common challenges.

l Attendees: 40, online About 40 senior management, research and promotion personnel of representative “In vitro diagnostic technology” institutions and multinational corporations in the Belt and Road Region.

Contents
Courses: Lectures and seminars on Immunoassay and molecular diagnosis; Optical technology for diagnosis; Microbial structure and cells; Application technology of chromatography and mass spectrometry; Standardized functional study; Technology transfer; Science communication, etc.
The training course will focus on the theory, practice and application of the in vitro diagnostic technology. The details are as follows:
l Technical courses: some famous professors and senior experts both at home and abroad will be invited to introduce the basic theory and methodology, research progresses and applications of the in vitro diagnostic technology.
l Experimental courses: well-designed experiments related to the in vitro diagnostic technology will be arranged to strengthen technical skills of attendees.
l Matchmaking: attendees are welcomed to introduce their cooperation intention at the end of the training course, and the meeting with SIBET scientists will be arranged to discuss potential cooperation possibilities.
l Other: including cultural exchange and experience activities.

l Academic requirements: senior management, research and promotion personnel of representative “In vitro diagnostic technology” institutions and multinational corporations in the Belt and Road Region
l The ones who have PhD degrees from any recognized universities, and with related research experience will be given priority
l Language requirements: good communication in English
