On July 1st，Prof. Zhang Liqun from Northwestern University visited SIBET for academic exchange with his two partners as a team.

During the visiting, Prof. Zhang’s team, Director TangYuguo and Vice Director Wu Xiaodong had an in-depth exchange of views and discussion on discipline layout and planning, project corporation as well as the industrialization of research findings. Both sides signed the cooperation framework agreement and agreed to establish a rehabilitation medicine technology joint R&D centerand carry out research on rehabilitation robot and other fields. Meanwhile, both of the two sides had a detailed discussion on the starting, operation mode and mid-long term plans of the center.

On July 3rd, Prof. Zhang was commissioned as a member of Director’s International Advisory Committee of SIBET and accepted the appointment letter from Director Tang. After the appointment ceremony, Prof. Zhang gave a report titled “Rehabilitation Robot Technology and its Application’.

Prof. Zhang Liqun graduated from Tsinghua University in 1982 and received his PhD from Vanderbilt University. He is a professor and senior researcher of Northwestern University and Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Prof. Zhang’s main research is Rehabilitation Technology including nervous system disease and sport-related injuries.transforming the R&D achievements into clinical practice and providing novel diagnostic and the rapeutic methods.
