Recently, the world-class scientist in electromagnetic compatibility, chairman of the technical committee of IEEE EMC society, director of the electromagnetic compatibility center of Missouri university of science and technology, Professor Fan Jun visited SIBET. Researcher Chen Xiao He, director of both the medical electronic department and the electromagnetic compatibility research center of SIBET, welcomed Prof. Fan and had a cordial talk with him in the electromagnetic compatibility research center at SIBET.

Researcher Chen Xiao He introduced developing vision and strategic objectives of the medical electronic department, and emphasized support from the electromagnetic compatibility research center to SIBET that is driven by a two-wheel model. According to Chen Xiao He, the director of SIBET, Tang Yu Guo, has made great achievements in the transformation of scientific research to application in recent years. Our electromagnetic compatibility research center has been developed from scratch under the care and support from the leaders. It has already begun to enlarge, and has been equipped with capability of electromagnetic compatibility performance testing, simulation and optimization design. The electromagnetic compatibility center of Missouri university of science and technology has enormous influence in the international electromagnetic compatibility field and the global electronics industry. This visit by Prof. Fan is of great significance to promoting both sides’ international cooperation in science and technology. We hope that Prof. Fan gives us some experience including the transformation of scientific research to technological achievements and cooperation with industry.

Prof. Fan firstly thanked Chen Xiao He's reception, and briefly introduced the current research progress of the electromagnetic compatibility center of Missouri university of science and technology. Prof. Fan mentioned that the Unite states national foundation platform, based on the electromagnetic compatibility center of Missouri university of science and technology, already has dozens of members and laboratories to conduct joint research. These members include electronics industry giants, such as Cisco, Intel, Apple, Qualcomm and Huawei etc. This platform can be used as a basis for planning and performing international cooperation projects with SIBET. After visiting the electromagnetic compatibility research center of SIBET and listening Chen Xiao He’s strategic development plan for the electromagnetic compatibility research center, Prof. Fan said that the think of basing on a core high-speed data acquisition card (medical products) to conduct the related research work is to translate research into resolving actual problem. This is of great significance for enriching the theory of electromagnetic compatibility, and particularly for dealing with the electromagnetic space coupling and radiation problems under the complex equipment application environment.
